A popular addition to your game drives and stay in the Serengeti or Tarangire National Parks is a balloon safari. It is an adventure as the hot air floats gently in the direction of the wind, offering a different view of the amazing scenery and wildlife below.
The excursion starts early, with pick-up from your lodge and driving to the launch site before dawn; on the way, you may see some nocturnal animals. Your balloon rises as the sun rises, and the flight takes about an hour of sheer excitement, floating at varying altitudes and at times climbing 1000 feet high or more. After landing, enjoy a traditional champagne celebration and an Out of Africa breakfast prepared and served in the bush. Thereafter, continue with the day’s planned activities.

These are standard Safari Hot Air Balloons with a capacity for up to 16 passengers.
Safety and equipment
The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority. All of our decisions to proceed with or postpone a flight will be primarily based on weather conditions.
Passengers
We take passengers’ individual circumstances into consideration as part of the decision to fly or not. When you book your flight, you will be asked to inform us of any disabilities and the approximate weight and age of passengers. We use weight for planning fuel consumption and take into consideration age and disabilities when determining whether we are able to fly.
Equipment
Our balloons and other equipment are inspected in accordance with the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) requirements at either 100-hour intervals or annually.
We only fly state-of-the-art, custom-made balloons.
Thorough pre-flight inspections are conducted and the use of designing checklists, for our balloons, is used for every flight.
Insurance
All the balloons and vehicles have been insured, and we also have insurance against any unlikely event of injury.
